Terms of Use

Diaspora Together Trust and Support Association (DTTASA) | CAC RN 8583605 | Last updated 31 October 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms apply when you use this website, dttasa.org, or give to DTTASA through it. DTTASA means the Diaspora Together Trust and Support Association, a non-profit registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as Incorporated Trustees (registration number 8583605), registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ZC274661), with its registered office at No. 17 Ehenden Street, off Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City, Edo State 300001, Nigeria.

DTTASA Haven and the DTTASA Portal have their own terms, inside each service. How we use personal data is in our Privacy Policy, how we use cookies is in our Cookie Policy, and refunds are in our Refund Policy.

2. Using this website

  • You may read, share and link to our pages for personal and non-commercial use.
  • Do not misuse the website: no attempts to break in, overload it, copy it wholesale, or send us harmful files.
  • We work to keep the information here accurate and up to date, but it is general information about our work, not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.
  • Links to other websites (for example Paystack, GoFundMe, YouTube and the registries on our Verify page) take you to services we do not run. Their own terms and privacy policies apply there.

3. Giving to DTTASA

  • A gift is a donation. You receive nothing in return for it: no goods, services, membership rights or benefits. You receive a receipt.
  • What you pay. Gifts are charged in Nigerian naira by Paystack. If you choose dollars, you see the exact naira amount at today's rate before you pay. Paystack's processing fee is added on top of your gift and shown on Paystack's checkout before you pay; DTTASA adds no fee of its own.
  • Monthly gifts are charged on the same date each month until you stop them. We email you 3 days before each charge, with a link to stop it in one step.
  • Refunds follow our Refund Policy.

4. How gifts are used, and the trustees' discretion

DTTASA uses gifts to carry out its charitable aims. A gift to a named cause, such as Project New Dawn or one of its pillars, is used for that cause, including what it takes to deliver it well.

Running a charity responsibly costs money. DTTASA may use part of its funds for the costs of running the organisation and delivering its work, including staff and contractors, accountants and auditors, legal and regulatory compliance, payment processing, technology and fundraising. We report how money is raised and spent openly, and our figures come from our own records of confirmed payments.

The Board of Trustees has the final say over how DTTASA's funds are applied. If a cause you gave to is fully funded, can no longer go ahead, or can no longer be carried out as described, the trustees may apply your gift to the closest similar purpose within DTTASA's charitable aims. Where the law or the terms you gave under require it, we will ask you first or offer a refund.

5. Charity governance and conflicts of interest

  • DTTASA is governed by its constitution and its Board of Trustees, and keeps records of how its money is received and spent.
  • Conflicts of interest. Trustees, officers, staff and volunteers must declare any personal, family or financial interest in a decision, a payment, a supplier or a beneficiary. Anyone with such an interest takes no part in that decision, and the declaration and the decision are recorded.
  • Our registrations can be checked on the official registries from our Verify page.

6. If DTTASA is ever dissolved

As DTTASA's constitution provides, the Board of Trustees decides on dissolution. DTTASA's remaining property is never shared out among its members, trustees or officers. It is transferred to another non-profit body with similar charitable aims, chosen as the constitution sets out, after any debts and legal duties are met.

7. Our content

The text, photographs, logos and design of this website belong to DTTASA or are used with permission. You may share our pages and quote them with credit to DTTASA. Please ask us before using our logo, our photographs, or the images of people in them.

8. Our responsibility to you

We provide this website free of charge and as it is. As far as the law allows, DTTASA is not responsible for losses caused by the website being unavailable, by errors in its content, or by services run by others that it links to. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law where you live that cannot be limited, or our responsibility for anything we cannot exclude by law, such as fraud or negligence causing death or personal injury.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria may hear any dispute about them. If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also keep the protections of the law where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts.

Please tell us first about any problem, using the details below. We will reply within 30 days and try to put things right.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our work changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. A change never applies to a gift made before it.
